Instagram Web Feed

In an official blog post last night, Instagram announced a new web-based version of its feed – enabling you to view, like and comment on photos posted by the people you follow. According to founder Kevin Systrom, the web feed is an attempt at making the service more accessible to users:

“We believe that you should be able to access Instagram on a variety of different devices, any of which may be convenient to you at a given moment – including your desktop computer or tablet.”

Instagram users needn’t ditch their iPhone apps anytime soon, though, as you’re not yet able to upload images using the browser interface. Systrom says this is because, “Instagram is about producing photos on the go, in the real world, in real time.”

The announcement follows the introduction of web-based profile pages that took place in late-2012.
